Paseo participants are given a safe and supportive opportunity to examine their ideal of a Christian life, living the life of Grace. Paseo encourages participants to come with as few expectations as possible. There are no demands on participants other than they come with an open mind (as much as possible!) and to be encouraging and supportive to one another. Paseo is secretive only in that the informational talks group discussions, and fun activities just have to be experienced first hand!

See what some of our recent Paseo participants are saying:

I had the great privilege of attending Paseo #7 with my extraordinary wife, Jessica. Neither one of us knew what to expect or what all the secrecy was about, but in the end, we understood how the idea is exactly that. To have people come in a bit disarmed and without expectations.

What we came away with was invigorating in terms of our faith, our experience of brotherly love, and our connections with members of the body of Christ. Paseo was truly a journey for Jessica and me, helping us to find deeper connections with members of St. Timothy’s and our fellow Paseo #7 attendees.

I look forward to sharing in future Paseos to help others experience the love of Christ as we did. Still, I think that we were very fortunate to have attended lucky #7!

You have no idea what you are about to experience. It’s definitely not your typical retreat. The Holy Spirit charged me with something I had tugged behind me. It wasn’t an issue I felt was necessary, yet that was God’s primary interest. The seemingly small things! I needed to accept it and settle it out. It began my journey to my “Hound of Heaven” (Psalm 139) experience at the retreat, one I will live to tell forever. The Holy Spirit was there! Be prepared to feel refreshed and loved by God and by dear ones who have been praying for you that day. I don’t know what it might be for you; I believe it comes as a special experience for each person. Prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit for the “why” and “what” he wants to share with you on this retreat and allow him to guide your heart. Come open and expectant! Jesus said to his disciples, come (away) with me by yourselves to a quiet place ad get some rest. So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place – Mark 6:31-32.

“I attended Paseo #2 with my loving wife. I went because I thought I would make her happy.  Needless to say, God had plans for me that weekend.  From the time we arrived and even after we left, I felt the joy, love, mercy, and holiness of God. As the Holy Spirit moved that weekend, I felt closer to the church community, I opened up, and even cried because of the joy I felt. As years passed and the world and life seemed to slowly rob me of joy, I felt God call on me to volunteer for a team leader role for Paseo #7. This time I volunteered my wife to join. I felt the same joy and love as a leader, serving and watching others experience God in a personal way. I felt on fire for the Lord again and it was awesome.

So, I suggest that if you have never attended a Paseo, you should; it will change your life.  If you have attended, then you should ask God to put it on your heart to serve as a leader. Watching God move in so many ways brings us all closer as a church family.”
