WHO WE ARE

WHO WE ARE

The Paseo movement responds to the Great Commission by presenting Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit so that all may come to know Him as Savior and Lord. Through formal weekend experiences, reunion groups, and Ultreya gatherings, Paseo participants experience the transforming love of Christ through fellowship, witness, and teaching.

OUR MISSION

OUR MISSION

The mission of Paseo is to equip the laity of the diocese for ministry through the power of the Holy Spirit.

FOR PARTICIPANTS

FOR PARTICIPANTS

Paseo participants are given a safe and supportive opportunity to examine their ideal of a Christian life, living the life of grace. Through interactions with dedicated Christian leaders, they experience Church as a crucial channel for Christ’s love and His outreach to the world. Through an introduction to prayer, study, and action, participants learn valuable tools to living a Christian life and to becoming leaders in their individual church communities. Through an emphasis on ongoing group experience, they are supported in preserving the Christian life while actively in the world.

DWGC PARISHES

FOR INDIVIDUAL PARISHES

With its emphasis on encouraging servant leadership, Paseo strengthens the laity of the parish. Participants invariably bring back the excitement, overwhelming love, and that special closeness to Christ that they received through the weekend. This energy, coupled with a renewed understanding of their servant role in the church make them strong and supportive partners to their clergy leaders.

THE DIOCESE

FOR THE DIOCESE

Interacting, witnessing, and having communion with brothers and sisters from other parishes makes so very clear the remarkable family of God that is in this Diocese. Relationships are made that bind the Diocese together in a unique and powerful way.

SECRETARIAT

PASEO SECRETARIAT

The Paseo Secretariat guides and coordinates all phases of the Paseo movement in the DWGC, under the pastoral care of the Bishop. It is charged with maintaining the integrity of the Paseo method (developed out of the Cursillo movement) to assure that weekends and other activities are carried out as prescribed, in a safe and comfortable environment. The Secretariat is limited to 12 lay members, all of whom must be appointed by their individual parishes, and the Spiritual Director.
